Musa Hilal claims that the rebels started this war and that it is their fault. Hilal is suspected to be a leader of the Arab Janjaweed militia and running one of the 16 known Janjaweed bases. Hilal also believes that the media and the west is making the genocide against blacks, worse than it really is. The foreign minister of Sudan, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail said: "Our position is clear, that what has been going on is not a genocide, this is an American attempt to us a humanitarian situation for a political agenda."
It is estimated that the majority of tens of thousands killed in Darfur are black. Hilal said that any deaths in Darfur should be blamed on the Liberation Army, who started this war, said the accusing Hilal.
